This 15 day tour starts in Copan, which will be your first encounter with the Mayan culture on this trip. Other famous Mayan ruins you will visit are Tikal and Quirigua. You will also get to visit the beautiful colonial town of Antigua and see the daily lives of many Mayan communities still living in the area around Lake Atitlan. It it includes a visit to the famous Chichicastenango market.

Day 1: Arrival – Guatemala City
Upon arrival at the airport, our driver and local English speaking representative will be waiting for you and take you in a private shuttle bus to your hotel in Guatemala City.
Day 2: Guatemala City – Copan (B)
After breakfast you will take a private minibus and drive for about 5 hours to Copan (in Honduras 10 minutes across the border from Guatemala). Here you can spend the afternoon exploring this small colonial town and you will stay the night in a hotel close to the central plaza.
Day 3: Copan tour (B)
Today you will take a early morning guided tour of the Mayan ruins of Copan. Very close to the town of Copan, surrounded by a forest. In the afternoon you can rest or take an optional tour to the bird park or the Aguas Termales.
Day 4: Copan – Quirigua – Rio Dulce (B, L)
After breakfast you will go back to Guatemala to the river side town of Rio Dulce. On the way you will take lunch in a local restaurant and you will visit Quirigua. Entrance fees to Quirigua are included.
Day 5: Rio Dulce (B)
Because of the tropical heat in Rio Dulce it is good to make an early start, so after an early breakfast you will visit Finca El Paraiso and then you can relax in the natural pool of Finca Paraiso (a warm waterfall streams into this pool, mixing the warm water with the refreshing cold water of the pool itself.
Day 6: Rio Dulce – Flores or El Remate
After breakfast the journey continues to the Peten area, where you will stay the night in a hotel in Flores or the El Remate area. A good base for visiting Tikal which you wil do the next day.
Day 7: Tikal tour (B)
Today you will visit one of the highlights of the ancient Mayan culture: Tikal. The tour includes private round trip transportation and an English speaking guide. A lunch is also included.
Day 8: Flores/El Remate – Antigua (B)
The morning is free, because today you will take an late afternoon flight from Flores to Guatemala City. Here your private transportation will be waiting for you to take you to Antigua.
Day 9: Antigua tour (B)
After breakfast your private guide will pick you up from your hotel for a half day tour of the beautiful and charming town of Antigua Guatemala. The afternoon is free or you can ask us about optional tours.
Day 10: Antigua: tour (B)
In the morning you have the choice between climbing the Pacaya volcano or take a tour of one of the coffee plantations around Antigua to learn more about the cultivation and production of this important export product of Guatemala.
Day 11: Antigua – Lake Atitlan (B)
Today is not a very early start, around 11 our driver will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Lake Atitlan, a lake with truly stunning views.
Day 12: Lake Atitlan Tour (B)
After an early breakfast you will get picked up from your hotel for a tour by boat to 3 of the villages surrounding the lake.
Day 13: Lake Atitlan – Chichicastenango (B)
Today you will visit the famous market of Chichicastenango, one of the biggest markets in Central America, where many local people from the surrounding villages come to sell their goods. After this visit you will return to Lake Atitlan. The afternoon is free, you could visit the Atitlan Nature Park with an amazing zip line through the forest.
Day 14: Panajachel – Antigua (B)
After breakfast you will return to Antigua where you will have one more afternoon and night. You can do some last minute shopping.
Day 15: Antigua – Guatemala City Airport (B)
Today you will be picked-up from your hotel in time to make your departing flight from Guatemala City Airport.
