In the northeastern region of La Mosquitia lies the Rio Plátano Biosphere Reserve, a lowland rainforest, with a great diversity of life and added to the Unesco World Heritage Site. Honduras has rain forests, cloud forests, mangroves, savannahs, and mountain ranges. In the Bay Islands (with the main islands Roatan and Utila), you will find dolphins, manta rays, parrotfish, and whale sharks. The climate of Honduras varies from tropical in the lowlands to temperate in the mountains.
