Learn Spanish in Antigua Guatemala

Learning Spanish in Antigua is one of the most fun and effective ways to learn Spanish. Spanish is a spoken in a big part of the world, and it is a real asset to master a second language. Because of the relative low cost of both living in Antigua and the course itself, Antigua has become one of the more popular spots to learn Spanish. All classes are one-on-one, just one teacher for each student, so you will learn Spanish much faster than if you were sharing a classroom with 10 or 20 other students. If you take a week of Spanish lessens (about 20 hours) in Antigua, you could get the same benefit as studying for a whole semester back home. Of course nothing comes easy (especially learning a new language), you still have to put in the work, do you homework etc. But if you have to study, why not do it in a lovely place like Antiuga Guatemala!

If you like a little more privacy or want to make your own meals, you can also consider renting a room in a guesthouse. Guesthouses you share with other students. You will have your own bedroom, but will share the bathroom and kitchen. Or if you want your own bathroom and kitchen, you can also rent an apartment, or stay in a hotel.

The lessons and Schools

The lessons are always private, one teacher for one student. If you arrive in a group there might be the option to take one teacher for your group. You can take as many hours as you want. Usually people tend to take 4 hours of lessons a day for 5 days a week, however if you think that is too much you could also take 2 or 3 hours a day. On the first day of school, the teacher will assess your level (beginner, mid-level or advanced) and set  up a lesson plan specifically for you.

The school Antigua also offers fun activities in the afternoon either for free or at a low cost, like a tour of Antigua or cooking or salsa lessons.
