Shared shuttle transfers
Minivans and buses that run between all the main tourist towns in Guatemala are locally known as shuttles. They almost always depart from Antigua. We do not run these shuttle services ourselves but we work with all the main operators in Guatemala. They also run to some destinations in Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Mexico.
Shuttles are a great way to travel between all major tourist destinations in Guatemala. Below you can find the schedule for each route.
Shuttle transportation is usually in a minivan with 15 seats. The service is shared, meaning you only buy your seat but other people will join. Most of the time the pick-up is from your hotel, but drop off at a central location.
Advantages of shared shuttle buses:
However there are also some disadvantages. There are restrictions on the amount of luggage you can take. The departure time is not exact, due to the fact that they pick-up more people and this can take time. Not a lot of leg room if the shuttle is full. In general a private service is more comfortable.
